Wedding Ceremony Tips

January 6th, 2011 by Quinn

Sorry for the lack of post lately but I just back from visiting my parents out of state.  I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year party with their friends and family.  However, I will try my best to keep everyone up to date and with more topic on wedding category.  I know everyone is anticipate for what I will post today so here is it!

Today topic is the wedding ceremony tip!

When two people get married whether in a civil ceremony or religious one, it is called a wedding; these days it is no longer required for the partners to be of the opposite sex. Whatever the background and history to marriage, it is still a legal union between two people; a legal document called a marriage license must be signed before the law recognizes a couple is married. The man getting married is called the groom or bridegroom to give him his full title and the woman the bride; once they are married they known as the wife and husband.

Church Weddings

Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Traditionally the church is the most popular venue, where the ceremony is presided over by a Christian priest. The traditional white wedding as we know it is really only a service that is popular in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and some other Commonwealth countries.

Multiple Ceremonies

A rare type of marriage is where two separate couples decide to marry at the same time; typically, a person with a brother or sister might plan this type of occasion with that sibling.

Destination Wedding Ceremonies

These days it is easy for couples to arrange a wedding in another country and have the guests travel to them with the honeymoon continuing afterwards; destination weddings automatically conjure up exotic countries but it could just as easily be a themed wedding in Las Vegas to qualify for that title.

Activity weekend Weddings

Whilst it is quite normal for the Irish to have three day weddings, more couples are taking the hint and having theirs over a weekend which gives them more time to enjoy the occasion. Those with a themed element can also be very successful and the activity can be either built into the day or over the course of a weekend. This is quite a good idea especially if the bride and groom have similar interests as both they and their guests can stay at the same location.

Online Ceremonies

Still in the early stages of evolution is the internet wedding where the couple is married online; internet based specialists are already available to help organize your ceremony. An internet or online wedding can also refer to a situation where a couple may broadcast their marriage to friends and family in other parts of the world.

City Hall Services Elected and appointed officials can carry out a marriage ceremony which is usually called a civil wedding. These ceremonies do not normally make any reference to God as they are a legal ceremony only. Often, this type of service will take place in a judge’s chambers, town or city hall or any other specially designated place.

If you live in a Christian country then you will recognize many of these wedding traditions but there are many more types of ceremony available around the world.

I hope you enjoy the wedding ceremony tips that I posted.  Remember to take it easy and don’t put too much stress on yourself because it will only make you look worst during your best moment of your life time!  Have a fun time using the tips I posted above!

Good Marriage Book

December 31st, 2010 by Quinn

Just finished reading “The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work” .  This was such an awesome book for all of you marriage couple out there.  In fact, I honestly think the principles mentioned in this book will work for everyone in relationship as well!  Definitely a must read book !

My Review On this book:

John Gottman, Ph. D. has a unique approach to helping married couples live happily ever after: he subjects them to scientific research! That’s right. Over the past few decades Gottman has invited couples to spend a weekend in a wired apartment (dubbed the ‘Love Lab’) where their conversations – even their heart rates – are monitored by a team of relational scientists. As a result Gottman says: “…I can predict a divorce by hearing only one discussion between a husband and wife.” (p. 40) Based on this research Gottman has developed seven principles (hence the name of his book) that when applied will help strengthen marriages. The seven principles are:

1. Enhance your love maps (know what makes each other tick).

2. Nurture fondness and admiration (appreciate each other)

3. Turn toward each other instead of away.

4. Let your partner influence you (especially for husbands).

5. Solve your solvable problems.

6. Overcome gridlock.

7. Create shared meaning.

Gottman includes his version of “The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse” that spell real trouble for any marriage: criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling. Unfortunately, most couples will recognize one or more of these horsemen in their own marriages. The beauty of “Seven Principles” is that Gottman develops each principle and provides a series of exercises to help couples put them into practice. It is presented in a clear and direct way that makes it very accessible for couples to use on their own, with the help of a marriage mentor or therapist, or in a small group setting. If you’re looking for a book filled with biblical references you will need to look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a fresh approach to marital health that is consistent with biblical principles then Gottman’s “Seven Principles” should be part of your tool kit.

You can Google this book or buy it on Amazon for those who are interested!

Wedding Stress Relief

December 29th, 2010 by Quinn

We all know that wedding can bring lots of stress into our head.  What am I going to wear?  What will my friends think of me? Will my future husband love me after married?  You have to stop if you are constantly asking yourself those questions!  Although, it is not a bad thing to worry about your future but it can turn your wedding preparation into a nightmare.  At time like this, you have to sit back and take thing slowly.  You have to know that; it’s completely normal and everyone stress out just like you did.  It’s just a matter of how you would manage your stress level.

In fact, watch this video and I am sure you will feel better.

On the bright side, that wedding will be remembered forever!  Definitely, don’t get a clumsy man to be your wedding best man =)

Surprise Wedding Comes From Blind Date

November 26th, 2010 by admin

who will i marry

I was very surprise to read a beautiful news this morning.

A blind date ended up being a match made in heaven for Ingrid and Tim. Soon followed by detailed filled yellow and teal wedding at Rancho Los Cerritos and the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach. Since Ingrid is an art teacher, the wedding was overflowing with clever details.

Ingrid hosted a craft day with her closest women family and friends prior to the wedding.  They crafted for 8 hours together making handkerchief programs, toss cones, parasols, tissue poms, terrariums, escort cards and more. If it was not for the help of those crafty ladies, she would not have been able to pull off all the lovely details. If you love Ingrid and Tim’s bride and groom sign you can personalize yours for free by clicking here.

A special thanks to Sweet Monday Photography for sharing this delightful treat with us.

You never knew what destiny has in store for you =)

A Beautiful Bride Wedding At Texas

November 10th, 2010 by admin

I was lucky enough to attend a wedding from a friend of mind.  To be honest, I didn’t know her that well but she invited me anyway to her party.   I have to fly all the way from California to Texas for it.  However, its completely worth it.  Texas weddings always seem to be filled with charm and good old fashioned elegance. Cassie and Sam’s rustic wedding is definitely not an exception. They chose a fantastic Texas venue filled with country flair and rustic charm, The Vista West Ranch.

They chose a romantic and classic color palette of soft pinks, whites and creams. To complement the country feel of the venue, Cassie incorporated rustic touches. The table numbers were brass house numbers placed in the centerpieces and flowers were arranged loosely in vintage glass vessels. Wendee from Lucie’s Events custom designed the distressed window frame

Congratulation Cassie and Sam :)
